Winter's Landscape
There is beauty in every season.
Spring's beauty lies it shy emergence and delicate colors, a rising energy quickening the spirit.
Summer flaunts her lazy voluptuousness, bright colors, and hot languid days and nights.
Fall brings a different kind of quickening in the air, a feeling of brisk energy, bright colors exploding with one last passionate push.
Then there is winter...cold, silent, and seemingly dull. But winter. Winter speaks to my soul. She is truth laid bare, a promise of what might be, hope in the face of starkness. Winter touches my spirit with a frosty hand and reminds me that silence is a deepening treasure.

Hope
I hope for a time when we can hug for minutes instead of seconds,
and we can look into each other's eyes as long as we like.
I
hope for days when we don't care about the ticking of the clock
because
we'll be hypnotized by the beating of our hearts.
That's how we will
spend our days.
I hope for days where we will say I love
you more than just thinking it
and we will cry out our tears instead of
holding them in.
I hope for days where we can wear our hearts on the outside,
and stand in the sun as one.

The Dream that Lingers
Waking to loss,
a sorrowing that runs a thread through the day.
The dream
lingers,
like foggy mist clinging
to the trees.
Even as the sun struggles through the grayness.
Dreaming of the beloved, and
of a life that is not,
may not ever,
Be.

How to Forget
She had forgotten,
what was possible...
So managed to live a quiet, steady life.
Veil lifted to reveal,
The enormity of possibility overwhelmed.
Standing on the edge of life,
She wondered how to forget, if she could forget,
What she now remembered.

Forgotten Dream
In an abandoned farmhouse,
Vacant doorways and shattered windows invite the outside in.
The rooms are empty,
Misty echoes of voices grope along the edges of the walls,
Only ghosts reside in this place now.
In the last room a silvered mirror reveals a simple dress.
Waiting to be worn to one last party,
One more dance,
A forgotten dream.
